Trip to Belgium was really nice. I took lot of casual photographs with 6x6 camera. Most of them to black & white film.
Some of photos have potential to be publishable, but let's see.
Otherwise I have done lot of large format photography lately.
The more I spent time with a large format camera, the more I like it! Even the heavy monster like monorail Toyo view camera which weights 5 kilograms and packed to my camera backpack, it weights 16.8 kilograms. And then tripod ofcourse...
The photography with large format is so different. It can be almost as fast as my usual medium format photography. Perhaps the focusing etc. camera operating takes additional five minutes, but it's not much when the composition, measuring the light, determining contrast, etc. takes 15 minutes anyway.
The most important think that I must learn is different approach. I use large format camera too much like overgrown medium format camera. I should use it more by favoring unique movements that it allows.
ABOUT THE GALLERY
I define myself as a photographer. That's because photography is my main 'artistic' hobby. But I also like drawing,
painting, computer graphics etc.
My main interest in photography is black & white "postcard pictures", also known as fine art black and white photography.
I photograph landscapes, but usually there are more or less man made elements within - old buildings, ruins, etc. And yes,
I use zone system as a tool to help me previsualize final image at the time I take photograph. Still have lot of learning,
though.
I use mainly 6x6 SLR camera and 4x5 view cameras. The film is mostly Black & White film. In some rare cases color slide
film. I develop films and make prints by myself.
More on my personal web page.
I do also 35mm photography. This is where color has more room in my mind; I love to take nature photographs. But within
last years, the ratio of color and monochrome photographs has gone for favoring monochrome instead of color.
For 35mm I take almost any kind of photographs. From snapshots to nature photographs.
Thanks for all visitors and
And remember, I'm allways waiting comments to my images impatiently
